The Alaska Marijuana Industry Association has scheduled a statewide call-in event for 7:15 p.m. Wednesday to discuss the recent trip to Washington, D.C. and the latest issues involving the state Marijuana Control Board.

The call-in phone number is 1-916-558-7514, and the access code is 692993. Participants should mute their phones.

Members of the AMIA and others participated in the May 7-9 lobbying effort of the American Trade Association for Cannabis and Hemp. Representatives from several state organizations went to the capital to discuss issues with members of Congress, including Alaska Republican Rep. Don Young, who is a member of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus.

Wednesday’s statewide call-in is limited to 100 people.

“We will be addressing committees, national and regional issues, with time allotted for the Fairbanks/North Star Borough, MVCBA, Kenai, SE , and Anchorage chapters,” a meeting notice on the AMIA website reads. “We will cover the current interest items and [Marijuana] Control Board actions, then will launch into statewide items.”
