A proposed settlement agreement with organizers of the 2018 Cannabis Classic is on the agenda of the next meeting of the Alaska Marijuana Control Board meets.

The board will meet Wednesday through Friday in Anchorage.

The board fined the Cannabis Classic, held in Anchorage in May of last year, $20,000 with $15,000 suspended.

Allowing public consumption was among the alleged violations.

The Cannabis Classic was held at a former social club and involved cannabis judging. Judges paid a fee of $350 for a cannabis class, samples of weed and to weigh in on different strains, according to a Daily News-Miner story at the time.

The AMCO office used photographs obtained from social media to show examples of public consumption at the event.

The proposed settlement will be discussed in a closed session during the board meeting.
