Cannabis wages

Marijuana Business Magazine reports on some of the pay differences in the cannabis industry around the nation.

Here’s one of the many interesting tidbits in the magazine’s findings:

“The salary data reveal regional trends that were echoed by industry observers. Perhaps the most significant: East Coast companies in search of candidates with marijuana industry experience are pulling employees away from West Coast rivals by offering better pay and perks.”

And then there’s this:

“Master cultivators are paid more in California, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio and Pennsylvania than master cultivators in Alaska, Colorado, Illinois and Rhode Island.

Master cultivators in Massachusetts earn $120,000-$150,000 per year—up to twice as much as the $70,000-$80,000 earned in Alaska.”

What’s up with that, Alaska growers?

Take this all with a grain of salt, or whatever you want to take it with, however. The magazine doesn’t list the sources of its information.
