If you’re like me, you’ve probably spent a fair amount of time ogling the high-tech concentrate gadgets in your local retail shop’s glass cabinets.
There are loads of slick devices aimed at making enjoying cannabis concentrates an easy experience but the Apple-esque design also comes with Apple-esque prices. While I’m sure spending a couple hundred bucks is worth it for the dedicated dabbers out there, I just don’t touch concentrates enough to justify the investment in a Puffco Peak (as much as I’d like to).
So, enter the Yocan’s line of portable concentrate vaporizers that range from about $30 to $60. The stubby design isn’t likely to turn many heads, but they get the job done, heating up very quickly for a smooth and convenient hit.
I have a Yocan Evolve Plus XL, but the company makes several different models in different sizes, power and colors.
At their core, the Yocan devices are essentially beefed-up vaporizer batteries with screw-on chambers filled with coils to vaporize your choice of cannabis concentrates. The Yocan Evolve Plus XL also comes with a spare coil, which is refreshing given that hunting down a replacement would typically be a pain.
It also conveniently uses the same connectors that you’ll find on most cannabis cartridges meaning you can swap out the coil chamber for a cartridge in a pinch.
The flexibility, ease of use and long-lasting battery life make them a go-to suggestion from folks just looking to try out cannabis concentrates without a blowtorch and dab rig to the most experienced dabber looking for a dependable, affordable and portable vaporizer.
