A nectar collector/honey straw

Smoking marijuana concentrates has always been a tricky, somewhat intimidating prospect when using traditional dab rigs, but honey straws have been changing the game and making it far easier to try out highly potent marijuana concentrates.

They come in one-piece all-glass setups to modular titanium-tipped rigs that can easily pass the $100 mark, but the idea is basically the same: Heat the tip of the collector to a red-hot head and dip it in a heat-safe container with your concentrate of choice.

In our experience, glass-tipped nectar collectors work better but are prone to becoming clogged or closed due to the heat.

Titanium-tipped collectors are more expensive and a little less precise but hold up far better to regular use.

$5 to $25 for glass-tipped nectar collectors (Alaska-made Igloo Glass or Grav Labs’s vapor straw) or $15 to $100+ for a titanium-tipped nectar collector.

The pictured titanium-tipped silicone collector is $15 from Raspberry Roots in Anchorage.
