Cataract Kush

Cataract Kush is one of the most popular strains sold at True Dank. Features: gray, purple and black hues, few hairs, dense, earthy, musky smell THC content: 17 percent

“Almost anyone who buys that Cataract Kush, they come back for it,” store owner Travis Fraser said.

He described it as smooth and aromatic. Cataract Kush is technically a hybrid but with the mellowing effects of an indica.

If you are inexperienced with cannabis, it’s a strain to use slowly.

“It’s considered a real heavy hitter,” Fraser said.

Cataract Kush is a cross between L.A. Confidential and OG #18, Fraser said. Both are award-winning strains. L.A. Confidential earned the High Times Strain of the Year in 2006. OG #18, a variation of OG Kush, won High Times’ Cannabis Cup in 2009 and 2010.

The strain is crystally and resinous. Fraser said Cataract Kush is a well-rounded bud that can be smoked in a joint, a pipe or a bong.

“What makes it distinct is the smell. It’s a very musky earthy flavor. You think, ‘Dank,’ when you smoke it,” Fraser said.

Some reviewers have described the high as both a head high and a body high. Others say it offers a “creeper” high with long-lasting effects.

Cataract Kush is popular with people looking for pain relief or help with insomnia. It is also said to ease anxiety and stress.
